Located in the heart of Patong, Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong immerses you in the vibrant lifestyle of this colourful seaside destination. Steps from Phuket’s most famous sandy shores, shops, restaurants and bars, we’re strategically located for you to explore the island life from the bustling markets to its dazzling seas.
Patong has come a long way from its quaint beginnings. The name, which means ‘forest filled with banana leaves’ in Thai, is derived from its origins as a banana plantation built by a villager named Ta Yom Ding in a bid to grow local trade. In 1959, King Rama ordered the construction of a road to connect the town to other parts of Phuket, marking a critical time in the modernisation of Patong.
Patong paints an electrifying scene - its tropical forest, neon lights and fishing boats that are festooned with bright sashes make up our neighbourhood’s story.
Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong draws inspiration from Patong’s deep cultural roots and the resort town’s spectacular surroundings, while its design concept infuses hues from the island’s natural environment. Patterns from Sino-Portuguese architecture and motifs from Patong’s fishing village heritage are woven throughout the hotel, as each area represents different aspects of the beach town. Our gym pays homage to Thailand’s signature combat sport, Muay Thai, while our guestrooms blend the bright colour palettes of Patong’s nightlife with a coastal fishing theme.
